A Walk to Remember

Recently, this halloween night, I took to the streets in our community to fulfill a vision that God had given me to share the sacrifice that Christ made for the world through His work on the Cross.
A few weeks ago, God spoke to my heart and answered a plea that I offered to Him. I asked Him to show me what He would have me to do so that others might know the love that He has for us, the answer came almost immediately.
I clearly heard Him say to me, "TAKE UP YOUR CROSS" which was accompanied by a vision of Christ carrying His Cross.
Wondering what this meant I asked, "what does this mean Lord? How?" then a burden for lost souls overcame me and over the next few days God continued to reveal the plan for me.
I was joined by a team of people from another community that has an outdoor theater where they reenact Biblical truths year round, they were moved by God to join me and I am so thankful that God has brought me together with a group of believers who share the burden that He has placed on me.

Before hitting the streets Saturday October 31, 2009, we joined hands around the cross that I would carry, the one that God had impressed on my heart to bear as a visual representation of the sacrifice that was made for us, and we prayed that God would precede us with His Holy Spirit and move in the hearts of those who we would come into contact with. Then, after observing Communion together, we took to the streets for a walk to remember.
As we made the nearly 3 mile journey which ended at the 1st Annual Brunswick County Fall Festival, I noticed that people would stop walking to stand along the side of the streets to let us pass. It was as if they could not move, but only stand in awe of the power of God that was passing them by. I also feel as if there were many who realized the truth in what I just said, it was passing them by.
I am unsure of how many people might have come to know Christ that night, but I do know that there were more than 300 New Testaments and other literature distributed in the community and I ask that if you read this that you will pray for those who received.
I wept for most of the walk out of reverence for the sacrifice that was made for me and for the burden of lost souls which is the mission of all believers to not only reach them but to touch them. I have been radically changed by this walk, the world is a new place to me today, a place where we are free to worship and that is full of people who are suffering without Christ. I also ask that you pray for them.
I remember one little girl during the journey who simply said in wonder as the team passed by, "that's Jesus", she was not afraid, she simply knew that He made a great sacrifice for her and she called HIS name, will you?
