I was raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas and moved to the Memphis area in 1995. Later I attended the University of Memphis and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2003. My day job is graphic design but my passion is painting and connecting with local artists through The Stirring (which meets at 5:30pm Sundays at Hope Church in Cordova, TN). www.thestirring.net
I keep a blog listing my upcoming art shows, new paintings, ideas and concepts, samples of live painting at church, and thoughts about using art in church. I try to post something at least once a week.

I read in a blog that you do live worship painting and was wondering if you could give me some tips and advice about it.
I have never done it before but have been asked by a pastor to do this at their prophetic worship conference (which I've gone to 4 yrs now and LOVE cuz it's really intense, Spirit-filled worship, usually for 3-4 hrs at a time).
I mainly work in acrylics when I paint and spend about 30-50 hrs per piece. I am a bit concerned about how to work in this medium and complete something in only a few short hrs. I prefer drawing to painting.
Any advice for a first timer?
If you were interested to see how I work, feel free to visit my page or visit my website, www.jtbarts.com which has about 120 pieces of artwork on it.
I am a missionary artsit in Tasmania and sell my artwork and evangelize through it at our open air market here.
Thanks and God bless--

You'll have the journals today! I just posted a few photos on our homepage. My daughter took more photos, so we'll get them uploaded so people can see how the work progresses!
Blessings to you in your show this weekend!
I enjoyed viewing your art. # 1 is pretty heavy, but I can relate. #2 is my favorite because it is really unique and feels so full of depth and beauty. Thanks for sharing your work, I hope to see more from you soon.
Sincerely, Renee
