On June 1 at The Grove Cultivated Artist Showcase, The Grove will award $20,000 in artist grants to artists who demonstrate creativity and originality in creating art for a public gathering. Learn more about the Showcase & Grove Artist Grants below.
Artists of all stripes and disciplines can apply for a Grove Artist Grant. Whether you are a filmmaker, poet, visual artist, ceramicist, writer, musician, singer/songwriter, photographer, any artist can apply. Every grant submission will be reviewed by our team and grants will be awarded to 20 artists at the June 1 Cultivated Artist Showcase. (All ages can apply.)
A total of $20,000 in grants will be given.
Your art must demonstrate originality in creating art for others to benefit from. In other words, you can't buy a new guitar for yourself. But if you are holding a concert, get the guitar! Large or small, your proposal must demonstrate you are creating an audience for your art. You may be a poet and want to host a house gathering...be creative! Let us know!
Application Deadline - May 15, 2019
We want you to take this money, invest it in your art, and show it to as many people as possible. We need to see you have a plan for putting your art out there where people are. Host a gallery showing. Throw a house party. A backyard or neighborhood concert. Visit schools and teach art to children, serve the poor. Why are we doing this?
Because artists influence everything.
For the past three years, over twenty-five artists in The Grove's Cultivated Artist community have been busy cultivating and creating remarkable art. We're now ready to throw a Grove Gathering party to celebrate and showcase their art. Join musicians, writers, filmmakers, visual artists, photographers and poets. Live music, film and art of all kinds will be showcased. We will also announce the winners of The Grove Artist Grant awards. If you apply and are selected, you will need to be present to win. You'll be treated to delicious hors d'oeuvres, wine and dessert. Presale tickets $10 pp. $15 at the door.
For the past seventeen years, The Grove Center for the Arts & Media has awarded over $100,000 in grants and scholarships to artists. As a small non-profit, we don't have an endowment, but we do believe in generosity. When we're generous, there's always more. When we're stingy, there's never enough. If we sow sparingly, we'll reap sparingly. Because artists influence everything...we believe a little seed can go a long way.
